Day Two: June 30, 2013
Animal Kingdom
Once again we were up early to find the magic! On day two we took a taxi straight to the gate of Animal Kingdom. (The suttle was a bit frustrating and took forever. After a bit of research we found a metered cab company that was well worth the money.) We were there before the gates opened. It was exciting to stare at the Tree of Life in anticipation of all of the fun ahead. When the hour struck we headed straight for Kilimanjaro's Safari. We were able to immediately board the safari truck to seek out the animals of Africa. It was just amazing. It was "feeding time" so lots of animals were out and active. We had to stop to wait for a girraffe to cross the road right in front of us. Tyson was excited to see a lion, mom loved flamingos, and Travis loved it all (his secret dream is to study Zoology). After the safari we toured through the Pangani Forest Trail. Next, while everyone else boarded the Wildlife Express train to visit Rafiki's Planet Watch, I hurried over to Asia to secure Fast Pass tickets to Expedition Everest (my favorite roller coaster of all).Next we headed over to DinoLand for some dinosaur fun. The children and mom rode the TriceraTop Spin, while Michael, Travis, and I rode the Primeval Whirl. Then we did rider switch for DINOSAUR, which everyone loved! During the second half Juel and I went to see Finding Nemo-The Musical. It was SOOO good! Soon it was lunch time. We had reservations at the Tusker House, which included character greetings. We got to meet Daisy, Donald, Mickey, and Goofy. I just loved it! The food was served buffet-style, which was great for the kids. It also allowed M and T to taste lots of unique African dishes. After lunch we headed over to ride Expedition Everest with the fast pass...but as usual for FL in July it was storming. So we went through the Maharajah Jungle Trail and then everyone went to see Nemo again (we were also able to get fast passes for the rapids). After the show the storm had passed and we were able to ride the Yetti twice! It was awesome! Then the whole family, Juel included, rode the Kali River Rapids. It is a bit questionable if she was really tall enough, but with the help of Uncle Mike she was in! She was so proud of herself and the ride was a blast. We finished the day at Camp Minnie Mickey for the Festival of the Lion King, which of course mom LOVED! (Its definitely not the broadway musical, but we loved the songs). It was another awesome day---we were exhausted!!
