5th Anniversary
Happy 5th Anniversary to my sweet Travis! Five years ago as I was an excited bride, I never imagined all the adventures we would share together as husband and wife, signer and cosigner, daughter and son-in-law, coach and coaches wife, Laura Strickland's husband and teacher, and now my favorite--mommy and daddy!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Fun with Gi!

Tyson loves my mom so so much! They had a blast together at the beach! She is training him to love relaxing at the beach just like she did us. She knows how to make everything fun. We never even left the condo. Mom always cooks breakfast, we pack lunch for the beach, then she piggy backs onto a grill someone is finished using to cook our supper! It is perfect for us! She is a perfect grandma!
Seaside Fun

After waking from his nap, Tyson would play in the tent for a while. He did not realize he could get out of it (bless his heart) so he would not step a toe out into the dry sand. Finally we would take him down to the shore.
He loved the water! If we had not held his hand, I am certain he would have gone to the middle of the ocean! He squealed with delight the entire time. He also loved to walk down the shore talking to everyone he could see. We think he was convinced that everyone at the beach was there to see him. If someone did not talk to him enough, he would stick out his bottom and poke out his lips and scream "wo wo wo!" SO FUNNY! We would also set up a tiny plastic pool between our chairs and let him play. Again, he thought he could not get out of it (bless his heart)! His misunderstandings really worked to our advantage! I just can not describe how much fun I had watching and playing with our sweet boy!
To the beach...

Each morning we would enjoy breakfast with the balcony opened to the beautiful view of heaven on earth. I must say I was very lucky because Ty shared a room with his Gi allowing his mommy to sleep in a bit! To top it off, "Gi" cooked breakfast every morning too! Tyson ate his meals tied to a make-shift high chair. He thought he was so big!
After breakfast came the task of getting ourselves ready to head to the beach...whew its was not as easy as it once was! Sunscreen on a one-year-old took both of us! However after the first day, as soon as Tyson was dressed he would stand by the door and scream "bye bye" because he was so excited for us to get down to the sand!
When we finally arrived seaside around 10:00 Tyson was usually sleepy. He would hang out in the backpack carrier (an awesome accessory as it can sit up like a chair as well) while we set up his little tent. Those of you that know mom and me can imagine that it was quite an adventure for us to set up a tent on a very windy beach! At one point as I ran to catch a part of it, I asked the people behind us if they were enjoying the episode of "Lucy and Ethel Set Up a Tent"! Alas...Tyson would then fall asleep for 2-3 hours!!!! Seriously?? We could not believe we were actually getting to read and relax! It was wonderful! When he finally woke up it was so so fun watching him play....
A Memorable Memorial Day

Over Memorial Day weekend, Mom and I took Tyson to our favorite place on earth, Atlantic Beach. It was an unplanned fun weekend as my Aunt Tillie called on Friday morning to tell us her condo was vacant...by Friday night we were on the road! Mom and I love the beach so much. Last summer as Tyson would sleep in his tent (and never really knew he was at a beach), we mused that this summer we would have fun, but would not have a chance to relax at the beach....we were wrong! My sweet boy has inherited our deep affection for sandy toes and salty air! HE LOVED IT! I can say that I could not have been happier. It was a perfect weekend.50th Anniversary Recital

Tyson was in the recital...so cute!
This year the Massey School of Dance celebrated its 50 Anniversary. I have been involved with the dance school since I was 3 years old, taking classes as a student for 15 years, then teaching and helping with various events ever since. "Miss" Debby and Mr. Eddie are like family to me. It was truly a joy to participate in 'celebrating the journey.'
Back...
Whew...now that school is out for the summer I may have more time to blog. I say "may" because Tyson is into absolutely everything these days! However-I hope to be a better blogger friend.
