Happy Easter

Emerson's Ice Cream Shoppe

We were invited to celebrate Emerson's 3rd birthday. As usual Crystal had a great party for her!
Beautiful cake!
I love this picture of the little taste testers!
Birthday Girl!

Juel was very proud of this balloon she swiped from the party!

Bride to Be

My little cousin Sarah is getting married to Michael Neely this summer. She is the daughter of my daddy's twin brother Jerry. I will always remember her birthday-April 1- because we thought dad was just trying to pull a April fools joke on us! I have always enjoyed spending time with Sarah and her husband-to-be is the nicest guy. He smiles all the time! I can't wait to see the look on his face when she sees his bride! We had a shower to celebrate the upcoming wedding.

Juel and Alice were too cute in matching outfits! I love these pictures of them together!

Juel thought she was so big getting to go to the girl party!

She wanted to go with Uncle Jerry!
He fed her 1000 Hershey Kisses. Taking this picture nearly made me cry, just wishing my twin daddy was still here to meet his little granddaughter! I love that Juel just went to Uncle Jerry. Of course he looks like my dad and his voice sounds just the same. They were best friends.

Some of Sarah's friends commented that we look alike...we said that makes a lot of sense since we have similar DNA with our daddies being identical twins. I am excited to see her daddy walking her down the aisle this June!

Lucky

This year we were "lucky" to spend time with our friends!

My littles were NOT impressed with my ideas of taking cute St. Patty's Day pictures!

Elizabeth was willing to cooperate! That's my girl!
Her counterpart, not so much!

I also have to show this...I made these for Tyson's preschool friends.
I am "lucky" to be your friend!

Long Sleepovers!

Although I wish wish wish we lived in the same town, one good thing about Morgan and I living 3 hours apart is that when we visit each other we get to have long sleepovers! We stay up late, drink coffee all morning, work on crafts, sneak away to shop...all while the children just play non-stop! Having best friend husbands also helps add to the fun.

Morning after a party...whew! Our mommies just throw us a box of graham crackers and pour cups of Sundrop! They win "The Mother of the Year"!
Letting the balloons go with the birthday girl!

 Lunchtime...party leftovers...still in jammies.
But not for long...the Moore children love to take off their clothes!!

These two just LOVE each other. Cedric and Travis warn that we better not let them create habits that could become problematic when they are preteens!
Sweet friends

We love weekend sleepovers with the Moores!

Congratulations to Miss Doris!

Morgan's mom "Miss" Doris turned 60 and has just worked her very last day in public schools (I couldn't be happier for her!) Cedric and Morgan and her brother Zack and his wife Nicole had a great party to celebrate. It was so much fun seeing all of the family. Both sides of her family have always been so welcoming and have made me feel like one of their own. Now I just love that my children are getting to know all of them too. When Zack's little boy Jackson got in the car to leave Tyson said, "buddy I wanted you to spend the night!" He has been talking about Jack Jack ever since! And I could just scoop his youngest boy Wyatt up with a spoon! He is WILD and precious! We always have fun telling stories about our younger---and perhaps wilder---days with the Sigmons. Of course I always like to hang out with Measer and Cedric's sisters too!

I had to add this picture of the boys getting in on the decorating fun!

A very merry "un-birthday"

Sweet little Alice Ann celebrated her 1st birthday...well sort of! She was born on leap day last year!! She is the first person I have known personally with a February 29th birthday. Her mama and daddy were interviewed on the local news stations on the day she was born. It was so special.  We enjoyed a great family party to celebrate her "Un-Birthday"-how fitting for an Alice!

Matt is such a proud daddy! And I am proud of him...he was just chosen by the Triangel Business Journal for a leadership award "40 Under 40" for his work with Band Together. He really is such a great guy-funny-hilarious actually, hard-working, giving, christian and more. I have seen a little e-card that says "Cousins are our first friends." This is really true for us. When my mom was pregnant with me she would lay baby Matt on her belly. Nearly all of my childhood memories include him. It is great to have full circle moments, like celbrating his little girl's first birthday together! I hope Alice, Tyson and Juel can always be friends too!

The birthday girl and her happy mommy!
Yummy cake...of course made by her grandma -Aunt Karen.

There is a fun playground just across from Matt and Allison's house.

 Whee!
Grandma Raye was supervising the swinging!
(Uncle David is the best swing pusher according to Juel!)
Present time! (I love the proud Grandpa with the video camera!)

 Cake time!

Sweet Aunt Karen and Tyson

Everyone PLEASE pray for my Aunt Karen. She was just diagnosed with breast cancer. (We have been joking that she and my mom-her best friend- have always done everything together, but this is just enough!) We all believe that she is going to be just fine, but it is still a difficult thing to face. She has lots of decisions to make. Please pray for guidance as she begins this fight. Pray for her peace. Please pray for Uncle David, Kevin, Matt, and Allison as they seek to support her. She is a wonderful person and Grandma!!
