The Magic of Magic Kingdom

Day One: June 29, 2013

We were all really excited for our first day in Magic Kingdom. I knew this would be my favorite of all and could not wait to see new Fantasyland and all of my old favorites. We were up early to catch the shuttle so that we could be at the park before crowds became huge. On the way I was as excited as Christmas morning!! Thanks to a great idea from Morgan, our family had matching t-shirts for our first day of fun. At first the boys thought they were completely lame, but after LOTS of compliments, they changed their minds! Tyson and Juel were just amazed by all of the transportation, colors, songs etc... The shuttle took us to Epcot, where we caught a monorail to the transportation center. Then we took the boat over to the entrance to Magic Kingdom. We headed straight through the castle and to Fantasyland. We knew this would not be our only day at MK so we decided to go to all of the attractions we thought the little ones (an their mama) would love. Our first ride was Dumbo! Next we rode the new Goofy rollercoaster, The Barnstormer. We rode it several times in a row. Both kids loved it! While we were riding, mom headed over to get fast passes for The Journey of the Little Mermaid ride-Juel was in heaven! We even stopped by Ariel's Grotto to meet her in person. We also rode my favorite, Its a Small World, and Peter Pan's Magic Flight. Next we went to the Haunted Mansion--and we were not scared because it was just "tenden" (pretending). We saw Mickey's Philharmagic and the parade to finish our day in the park. Then mom and I took the kids to find a cool place to rest. We decided to go over to the Polynesian lobby to rest and get ready for the Luau that night. Although there was no rest to be had, it was a nice break. Michael and Travis became masters of the Fast Pass and rode lots of big rides while we rested. That night we went to the Luau and it was fantastic. We had front-row seats. The food and drinks were great and everyone enjoyed the show. It was a perfect first day at Disney!

Cheers to a great day!
