This year we, along with several friend groups, have decided that "experiences" make the best gifts. So rather than purchasing Christmas gifts for each others' children, we have chosen to spend time together doing fun things. Crystal and I have been friends as long as I can remember and have always exchanged gifts...until we had children...then our children exchanged gifts. Last year we individually did several fun "christmasy" things and it was well after the holiday before we could exchange the gifts. We decided that we would rather do one of those fun things together in lieu of presents.
So...we decided to go to the Pullen Park Christmas Express. Pullen Park is one of my favorite places around...add in Christmas décor, Santa, snow, and friends and it is a perfect hit!

It was so fun riding through the tunnels filled with blinking lights and then seeing the whole park full of decorations!
Next we headed over to the events area to make ornaments and reindeer food, to have snacks, to dance and to meet Santa! While the boys waited in line for us to meet the big guy, we watched a performance on this little stage. As soon as it ended, Emerson led the way for it to fill with dancing kids! She made me proud with her lyrical moves!!!!

Mom met us at the park. We had tickets for Uncle Mike too, but he couldn't make it. Maybe next time he can convince us to sit with Santa!??
I think we made the right decision! FUN was had by all!!
