Happy 90th Birthday Ma

Travis's grandma "Ma" turned 90 years old. Her son, Wilford, lives near Asheville and invited us for a party to honor her. She is so sweet and funny. Travis is so proud of her and we miss her. It was a great trip to celebrate this special lady.
The party meant great food because Wilford's wife, Pearl, is a wonderful cook....

It also meant spending time with Uncle Jeff! We came in the night before and stayed in downtown Asheville with Jeff and his family.
It also meat time with cousins! This is special to us because we do not see them very often. Reagan is a great helper with Juel. Taylor and Tyson love playing together. He always brings a bag full of fun stuff!

This party was the first time that all of these little ones have been together at the same time. (I should post some of the ridiculous pictures that I tried to take...this was the best one. Tyson was busy and did not want to pose so he was screaming for most of the pictures...ok so I decided to add it. It makes me laugh!) It was actually the first time since before my wedding that all of the grandchildren were together. This made Ma so happy.

This is Wilford and his family. His son Keith was the preacher for our wedding. Keith's wife, Jennifer, is also a school teacher so we always have lots to talk about. Wilford's daughter, Beth, has the same sweet personality as Ma. Tyson and Juel enjoyed playing with the boys, Reed and Jake.
Mostly Tyson just wanted to cut grass! (what can I say, my boy likes to work!)

Juel loved sitting beside Reagan. She would find a place to sit and then pat beside her for Reagan and sometimes Aunt Jennifer to join her.
Ma loves taking pictures...even more than I do. I have so many pictures of her posed between Travis and Jeff throughout the years. Some of them make me laugh because she will want Travis to hold something up in the picture (for example a vase of roses, or a quilt). She also has a habit of taking pictures with random combinations of people (like maybe me, Keith, and my mom)...you just never know!
I love this picture with all of the grandchildren!

I love this sweet sweet lady. I will never forget meeting her for the first time. I think I knew that I would love Travis because of how much I loved her. I remember helping her wash dishes in her kitchen sink (with a window) and hearing her sneak into the living room to tell him that he needed to keep me! I also treasure memories of her precious friendship with my grandmother. Eleanor Elizabeth Abernathy is one of a kind!
