We have now "survived" 2 t-ball games..and we are all getting better each time. I am starting to relax and just laugh at the show and Tyson is getting more brave each game. At the first game he was pitifully scared/shy. He would not even hold the bat! The coach helped him hit and then he walked the bases...slowly. Like so slow that players hitting after him passed him. But at least he was out there! For that game the coaches did not call anyone out. During our second game outs were called (although everyone gets to hit...just if you are tagged out you sit down). So...Tyson's first time up to bat he hit it and walked very slowly to first base. Now most of the time kids were able to make it to first base easily because the field players are not yet good at throwing, catching, and tagging the base. However, when the runner moves like a turtle, the opponents have multiple tries to tag the base. You guessed it...Tyson was out at first! At first I was worried that he would either be happy/relieved to be out so that he was done "running" or that he would be too embarrassed to try again. But, my boy rallied! I told him that if he did not RUN they "get him" out! His next two times at bat he RAN!! Now it was not a very athletic run, but he ran!! We were all so proud!
